FAQ

Ask a Question

Where is the plywood made?

Every panel goes through the full manufacturing cycle at Palati's plant in Rustavi, Republic of Georgia: veneer grading, gluing, cold and hot pressing, sanding and trimming. Palati is an Authorized Exporter, so shipments qualify for Georgian certificates of origin. AllBirch, led by Stefan Popov, distributes Palati products in the United States.

Can I buy less than a full container?

Yes. Full containers ship mill-direct at the best price per sheet. For smaller orders — a truckload or less — we supply from U.S. warehouse stock. Ask for current availability.

What sheet sizes and thicknesses are available?

Standard sheets are 2440 × 1220 mm (4′ × 8′) and 2500 × 1250 mm, long-grain or cross-grain. Birch plywood runs from 6.5 mm (1/4″) to 30 mm (1-3/16″) depending on grade; film-faced panels 9–27 mm; parquet plywood 6.5–15 mm. The 5′ × 5′ (1525 × 1525 mm) Baltic birch format is not available.

Is the plywood TSCA Title VI and CARB compliant?

Yes. Palati birch plywood is certified by a third-party certifier (TPC) as compliant with TSCA Title VI and CARB Phase 2, with ULEF (ultra-low-emitting formaldehyde) status. The TPC certificate and number are available on request. The mill also holds factory production control and E1 certificates. Copies come with your quote on request.

Where does the wood come from?

The mill uses rotary-cut birch veneer (Betula pendula / Betula pubescens) bought from FSC-certified suppliers in the Baltics — not local Georgian timber. FSC chain-of-custody certificate details are provided with your quote and can be verified on search.fsc.org, and the species is declared on export paperwork for Lacey Act compliance.

Is FSC-certified plywood available?

Yes. FSC-certified panels are available on request, and the FSC claim is printed on the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading for certified shipments. Let us know if you need FSC when you request a quote.

How much fits in a container?

A 40′ high-cube holds roughly 32 m³ of plywood, — about 22 metric tons at 700 kg/m³ — subject to U.S. road weight limits. Standard bundles (lifts): 44 sheets at 9 mm, 33 sheets at 12 mm, 22 sheets at 18 mm.

Is this Baltic birch plywood?

It's birch plywood made from Baltic birch veneer — rotary-cut birch from FSC-certified suppliers in the Baltics, pressed into all-birch panels at Palati's mill in Rustavi, Republic of Georgia. It's a strong alternative where buyers spec Baltic birch, in 4′ × 8′ and 1250 × 2500 mm sheets (the 5′ × 5′ format isn't produced).

How fast will I get a quote?

Usually within one business day. Quotes include itemized pricing, availability and delivery options.

Can you mix grades and thicknesses in one order?

Yes — mixed containers are common. List the grades, thicknesses and quantities you need and we'll build the load.

Do you supply samples?

Ask us. For new accounts we can arrange samples or a trial order so you can check grading and finish before committing to volume.

How are payment and delivery terms handled?

Terms depend on order size and supply option and are set out clearly in your quote. Container orders are quoted to your U.S. port or delivered to your door; U.S. stock ships by truck to your yard or dock.

Wholesale pricing, usually within one business day.

Send the grade, thickness and volume you need. We'll send an itemized quote, availability and delivery options — container or truckload.
